The Ottawa Section of the Canadian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry honours the President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Ottawa, the Honourable Allan Rock
Under the Patronage of His Excellency Ambassador Massoud Maalouf, the Ottawa Section of the Canadian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CLCCI), in partnership with the Lebanese Cultural Club at the University of Ottawa and with the support of countless Lebanese organizations, held a special event where the President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Ottawa, Mr. Allan Rock, was honoured. The event was held on Monday, April 27th, 2009 at St. Elias Banquet Centre. One of the objectives of the CLCCI is to recognize the accomplishments of individuals and institutions that contribute to the success of our community. The University of Ottawa is a positive force in adding to our community's growth.
The event was one of a series of recognition events where the Chamber honours our community’s institutions of education and excellence. The University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Algonquin College, and La Cité collégiale are leaders in making futures and lives in our community. The CLCCI takes great pride in honouring Mr. Rock's vision for a university where the quality of the student experience is essential, the link between the University campus and the world is inevitable, and the University becoming “Canada’s University in the Service of the World.” The Canadian Lebanese community has given much to the University of Ottawa and to the Canadian society in general. Some of the most successful professionals and businesspeople in Ottawa, Canada and the world are from our community.
The event was also the beginning of a new partnership between the CLCCI and the Lebanese Cultural Club at the University of Ottawa for the purpose of providing as much support and as many networking opportunities as possible for Canadian Lebanese university students so employment, business and professional circles are made more accessible. The CLCCI is also announcing the intent to create of a Youth Committee within the Chamber in the very near future.
